Title: | Ellen G. White's home in Healdsburg, California |
Description: | I have a picture of her home in Healdsburg, wrote Alma McKibben. Here is the picture. Mrs. McKibben stands at the right. Her little brother, Alonzo Baker, stands in front of their mother and next to the grandmother, who is in a wheelchair. The other people were either visitors or renters. Fireplaces were Sister White's one luxury, Mrs. McKibben wrote. This explains the two brick chimneys. When Mrs. White bought this house it was a one-story cottage with only two bedrooms in it. She had a large family; there were secretaries and others who helped her in her work. So the roof was taken off this cottage and an upper story was added. [McKibben Memories, p. 2.] |
