| Description: | A family photograph of Ellen Gould Harmon White and her extended family through her son, William C. White. She had 3 other children, all sons (Henry Nichols White, James Edson White, and John Herbert White). Willie, a nickname of endearment, was an elder and pastor in the Seventh-Day Adventist church. During Ellen's lifetime, Willie lived with her and bore the responsibility of assisting her in her extensive travels all over North America and the world. May White, shown in the photo, is Willie's second wife; his first wife, Mary E. Kelsey (through whom he sired Ella and Mabel, also shown). Ellen was co-founder with her husband, James, of the Seventh-Day Adventist church and was an influential preacher and writer. She is seen as a prophetess by the Seventh-day Adventist church. Her son, Willie, acted as chair of the Pacific Press printing company in addition to his work with his mother's travels.
