Description:Colorful stamps portraying life on Pitcairn Island in the South Pacific are displayed at the Heritage Room of the James White Library at Andrews University. The collection was given to AU by retired Seventh-day Adventist minister R. S. Shepard. Behind the stamps is a color reproduction of the mission schooner Pitcairn, which took the first missionaries to the island in 1890. Sales of stamps to collectors and production of various craft items provided much of the island's income
