| Description: | Over 100 Andrews University students worked for five hours on October 12, 1970 to collect over $2,000 for the 'Wayout' program operated by the Voice of Prophecy radio station. Everett Schlisner (middle), dean of men, phones H.M.S. Richards, Jr. around midnight of that day to report the achievement. Nearly half of the money was given by Andrews University residence hall students. The move to raise the funds came spontaneously after Richards stated during a visit to the campus the previous weekend taht 30,000 requests for the 'Wayout' magazine had not been processed because of a lack of funds. Richards said $1200 was needed, but several hundred dollars extra was contributed by students, staff, and faculty of the university. Seated in the center is Everett Schlisner |
