Title: | [Siegfried Horn showing Debbie Boyer the Esther scroll in the Andrews University Archaeological Museum] |
Description: | A 200-year-old scroll of Esther, recently donated to the archaeological museum at Andrews University, is examined by Dr. Siegfried Horn, professor of archaeology and history of antiquity, and Debbie Boyer, junior history major at AU. The scroll, probably from Palestine, is contained in an olive wood case engraved with depictions of Rachel's tomb and the city of Jerusalem. The Hebrew writing has been done entirely by hand, and the scroll itself is parchment, probably made of sheepskin |
