Title:[Kimble family in front of their home in Elmira, NY]
Description:On the back of the photo: "Picture taken on June 26, 1896 by George Personious, photographer of Elmira. In the picture are Norman Kimble, age 10 years. Mrs. James D. Kimble, William D. Kimble, Miss Emma Winchie of Little Valley, N.Y., Fred horse, James D. Kimble, and Flora horse. The upright part of this house is prob[ab]ly as it looked in the 1850 years when Elder and Mrs. James White visited in the John Kimble home and Elder White performed the marriage of miss Mary Trusdell, daughter of Mrs. John Kimbal, to John H. Langhead. This farm home was beautiful in the town of Catlin place called Catlin Center in Chemung Co. This house is where Mrs. David Lane of Hornby died Sept. 13, 1898 in the home of her daughter Mrs. Elizabeth Kimble. She was 80 years old. The two windows were for the bedrooms in the end of this house and in the 1900s the partition was taken out and one large window made and one large bedroom for their parlor spare bedroom. The window behind James Kimble was made into four windows for a bay window in the Kimble dining room and the porch was widened to be in line for the roof over the boy two outside under that roof. And the other end bay window was under the large porch. The folks are facing the south and looks like a noon day picture." Left to right: Norman Kimble -- Mrs. James D. Kimble -- William D. Kimble -- Miss Emma Winchie -- James D. Kimble.
