Title:[Rochester, New York, Seventh-day Adventist camp meeting grounds
Description:Back of the photograph: "Picture taken of the Rochester N.Y. Campmeeting grounds in the year Sept. 8-19, 1898. The people shown out in front of the two of the tents along the fence are the Coon family and at the corner tent are the Corning Church members who came out to have their picture taken. They are Mrs. Etta Saunders and Mrs. Newson, John Bellings Jr. and wife Kitte, Charles Kimble, and Elder Westworth, one of the ministers had to leave the grounds on Thursday to attend a funeral in the James D. Kimble home of Mr. Kimble's mother-in-law Mrs. Miranda Lane who died Tues. night at 6 o' clock. Elder Place the President of the Conference received a telegram from J.D. Kimble Wed. Sept 14 to locate Charles A. Kimble of the Catlin Church to come home because of his grandmother's death. Charles had arrived on the ground Friday Sept. 9, 1898. Elder J.W. Raymond gave up his cot/bed to some one who came and had no place to stay. Elder Raymond came to the Corning tent group and slept nights on the cot vacated by Charles Kimble for the rest of the camp session. The tall building at the left is the Catholic Cathedral in Rochester. The other side of the book tent is the dining tent and kitchen tent I believe or the minister tent by looking at the pictre there are two persons out side their tent along the back door side and front. A horse and wagon tent is over near a fence on the south of the tents towards town with the cathedral. Mr. Newson and Etta Saunder tent was pretty bare, no sheet curtains to close off their bedroom part. They all thought the Bellinger tent look so nice inside. So those two tents were called the Corning Church in that Campmeeting."
